BSSN 2 Positions:
BSSN Phase II is implemented by the Aleut International Association, Anchorage, and the
RAM Group of the University of Alaska in collaboration with the Alaska Native Science
Commission from September, 2009 to approximately August, 2014. These positions are full
time and based in Anchorage, Alaska.

BSSN is a formalized international network of coastal communities devised to gather and
record observations regarding Bering Sea marine resources and environmental changes in
and around the Bering Sea. BSSN began as a pilot in 2007 and currently has 6
member-communities: 3 in Alaska (Gambell, Togiak and Sand Point) and 3 in northwestern
Russia (Kanchalan in Chukotka, Tymlat in Kamchatka, and Nikolskoye on Bering Island). In
Phase II, BSSN will be expanded to include 4 more Alaskan villages. For more information

BSSN Senior Project Coordinator
Responsibilities include:
* Ensure effective communication and coordination of work between participating villages
and Anchorage staff
* Monitor progress in the villages and assist village coordinators
* Assist Data Manager with surveys and interpretation of information
* Develop outreach and mentoring materials for participating villages as needed
* Organize and conduct regular teleconferences for village coordinators
* Manage quarterly financial and activity reports from the villagers and provide a summary
report to the project lead
* Participate in other work synergistic to the project

Qualifications:
* Project management experience desirable
* Ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural and international environment
* Knowledge of indigenous cultures helpful
* Ability to bring energy and enthusiasm that will ignite others
* Ability to work with minimum supervision and collaborate with others
* Excellent oral and writing skills
* Proficiency in major Office software
* Russian language mandatory

Education/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree desirable
* 3 Years administrative experience

Compensation:
* Salary DOE
* Benefits (health, pension, paid leave)

Term:
* 37.5 hrs/week
