Invitation for Internship with Aleut International Association
AIA is pleased to announce an opportunity for an internship in 2011-2013 and is inviting applications from
individuals with the following qualifications:
*A relevant college degree or a current student
*Alaskan residence
*Strong interest and some experience working in, at least, one of the fields identified above
*Ability to travel internationally
*Good communication skills
*Good command of the English language
Fields of work: International Arctic Affairs, Indigenous Issues, Environmental issues, Natural Resource
Management, and non-profit management.
Required commitment: 6-8 weeks per year working in the AIA office in Anchorage or telecommuting if
place of residence is other than Anchorage, and attendance at least of one international meeting per year
(travel costs paid by AIA).
Compensation: This is an unpaid position but a small stipend will be provided, as well as per diem for travel.
Expected deliverables: The intern is expected to write a paper on a subject of mutual interest.
